Antakya probably took the name of Antiochus I who was the son of Seleucos. In the 2C BC, The Mosaic Museum exhibits beautiful Roman and Byzantine mosaics from the 1st to the 5C AD.
Konya was the capital city of the Selcuk Empire and hometown of Mevlana, founder of Whirling Dervishes.
Perge did not appear in history until Alexander the Great came here in 333 BC. From that period, it became an important city surrounded by fortifications.

DAY 1 Adana/ Antakya (Hatay)
Visit the cave where St Peter first celebrated mass near Antioch, a center of monastic life (B, L, D).
DAY 2 Antakya / Konya (Iconium)
Visit Tarsus, the birth place of St Paul, then continue to Lystra where he preached (B, L, D).
DAY 3 Konya / Antalya
Visit the whirling Dervishes and Mevlana Museum in Konya. Drive to Antalya, where St Paul preached and Hadrian ruled (B, L, D)
DAY 4 Antalya - Perge - Aspendos
Explore the city of Perge where the Apostle Paul preached his fýrst sermon. Visit the ancient theater of Aspendos, then on to Side (B, L, D).
DAY 5 Antalya / Pamukkale
Visit Hierapolis, home of St Philip the Evangelist and the frozen “ water falls” at Pamukkale(B, L, D).
DAY 6 Pamukkale / Sardis / Izmir
Visit Sardis and Philadelphia, where St Paul preached. Continue to Izmir, ancient Smyrna, and visit the Polycarpes Church (B, L, D).
DAY 7 The Ephesus
Full day tour of Ephesus, the best preserved archaeological site in Turkey, where St. Paul stayed nearly three years. Addressed by St. John as one the Seven Churches of the Revelation, Ephesus is the site of the Artemis Temple, considered one of the seven Wonders of the world. Continue to the Basilica of St. John and the Selcuk museum. Dinner and overnight in Selcuk (B, L, D).
DAY 8 Selcuk / Bursa
Visit Thyatira ( Akhisar), known for its guilds of artists in St Paul’s time and Pergamum. Continue to Bursa for overnight (B, L, D).
DAY 9 Bursa / Iznik / Istanbul
 Visit Nicea, the Byzantine capital for 100 years in the 13th century. Overnight in Istanbul  (B, L, D).
DAY 10 Istanbul
Morning visit of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia (St Sophia Museum). After lunch visit the Topkapi Palace and end your day at the Grand Bazaar (B, L, D).
DAY 11 Istanbul / Home
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight back home (B).
